School Dates and Times

 

2026 school terms

The Victorian 2026 school term dates are as follows:

​

Term 1: 28th January - 2nd April 2026

Term 2: 20th April  - 26th June 2026

Term 3: 13th July - 18th September 2026

Term 4: 5th October - 18th December 2026

​

For Greenhills Primary School students, the first day of the 2026 school year is Thursday 29th January for students in Grades 1-6.

​

Preps will have a staggered start on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th February with their first full day on Monday 9th.

​

There are several curriculum days and student-free days throughout the school year, ratified by the Greenhills School Council and announced in the school newsletter and on Compass.

 

Outside school hours care is available on curriculum days, student free days and school holidays, provided by Team Kids.

The school day

​

School hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 3:30 pm. 

​

Children are supervised on school grounds from 8:45 am and until 3:45 pm. Out of hours care is available for families requiring childcare outside school hours through Team Kids. 

​

Students should be present on school grounds by 8:55 am. 

​

Bell times

 

• Commencement - 9:00 am

• Morning Recess - 10:55 am – 11:25 am

• Lunch Recess

  • Lunch eaten inside 1:20 pm – 1:30 pm

  • Outside play 1:30 pm – 2:20 pm

• Dismissal - 3:30 pm

​

Students arriving after the commencement bell should report to the office.

 

Absences can be notified to the school via the Compass app.
